From May 26 through June 1, 2005, Woodstock hosted the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the Moving Wall. This is a half-size replica of the actual Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC. Woodstock also hosted this Moving Wall in May 2002.

For 2005, the McHenry County Marine Corp League helped to organize this event of bringing the Moving Wall to Woodstock. Many veterans and interested people helped set up the Moving Wall. Guards were posted 24 x 7 at the Moving Wall to keep watch to prevent any vandalism and also to help visitors locate names on the Moving Wall. Two computers were set up to locate names on the Moving Wall.

A big community "Thank You" goes out to Phil Meier, life member of VFW Post 5040, who donated the funds to bring the Moving Wall to Woodstock. Phil also donated the money in 2002 for the first visit of the Moving Wall to Woodstock.

These pictures are in random order taken at the Wall on Woodstock Square. Some pictures were taken at night and some during the day to get a different perspective of what it looked like.

Also pictured underneath the gazebo at the East end of the Square is the Coalition Memorial, which pays tribute to service men and women from all nations, who have died during Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and during peacekeeping missions in Afghanistan.
